The Town of Wasaga Beach is considering implementing a Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) and we are seeking input from residents, businesses, and stakeholders. Here's everything you need to know.
In August 2024, Council received Staff Report 2024/08/22-16, which approved public and industry consultation on the potential introduction of a MAT. This consultation will help identify existing needs, challenges, and opportunities related to the tax.

207 Main Street Water Service Break

The Public Works Department is diligently repairing a water service break at 207 Main Street.
The water service repair will be ongoing throughout this morning and into the late afternoon.
Main Street has been reduced to two lanes, one in each direction, between Elm Drive and Stonebridge Boulevard.
Please avoid the area to allow the repair to take place without interruption.

“Today, Council unanimously approved the terms of a purchase and sale agreement with the Sunray Group for a portion of Town-owned land near our beachfront and main tourism area at Beach Area 1 — this is where the award-winning hotelier plans to build a premium-brand hotel, restaurant and other amenities.
