The Sign By-law sets out regulations for signs used for business identification or advertising purposes.
The Sign permits are issued and enforced by the Wasaga Beach Municipal Law Enforcement Department (By-law) and in some cases will require a building permit.

Sign permits are issued and enforced by the Wasaga Beach Municipal Law Enforcement Department (By-law).
If a proposed sign meets mandated criteria established in Part 3 of the Ontario Building Code, a building permit is also required. In this case, a site plan and drawings must also be provided to and approved by the Building and Development Standards Department.

Sign Permit Application
When applying for a sign permit, the first thing you need to do is submit the appropriate application form. There is a different sign permit application form for the following signs:
- A-Frame Sign
- 911 Sign
- Ground Sign
- Permanent/Temporary Signs
- Directory Signs
The completed sign permit application should be submitted, in person or by mail, along with the appropriate fee to the Municipal Law Enforcement & Licensing Department.
Permit Application Requirements
- Where applicable, completed drawings and specifications of what is to be erected or structurally altered, including details of supporting framework, description of sign materials and lighting;
- Where applicable, plans indicating the location of the sign on the building relative to vehicle accesses, doors, windows and other existing signs on the site;
- Where applicable, site plans to scale indicating location on the site, setbacks, street lines and other boundaries of the property, and the location of the building thereon.
- Upon receipt of a completed application, the Corporation shall issue a sign permit, provided the application is in compliance with the regulations contained in this By-law and any other applicable by-laws of the municipality.
- The fee prescribed in the most current Fees & Charges By-law.
- Upon issuance of a sign permit, the majority of the construction of said sign shall be completed within six months of the date of issuance, and completion of construction of the sign shall be within one year of the date of issuance of the permit.
Where an Officer removes a non-compliant sign, the owner may purchase the sign back by paying the sign return fees contained in the current Fees & Charges By-law.
